Dale Magee started the New England History of Medicine Society in 2025 to promote the history of medicine to clinicians and the interested public.
Prior to this, his interest in the history of medicine surfaced as presentations for various medical and community groups, work as curator of the Worcester District Medical Society, work on history projects for the Massachusetts Medical Society as well as organizing several medical history tours both locally and internationally. The NEHMS allows for the consolidation of his efforts as well as the ability to promote the interest and work of others and to a wider community.
A retired Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Dr. Magee also worked as president of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Worcester and Medical Director of Central Massachusetts Independent Physicians Association in Worcester, MA. He was elected to four terms on the Shrewsbury, MA School Committee and remains active in community activities.

Anastasia Arvin DiBlasio is a medical student at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and is interested in medical history, especially the nineteenth century. She also contributes as a presenter.
A graduate of Bowdoin College, She got her EMT, and then AEMT, between undergrad and medical school At present, she is interested in pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine.
Now retired, Dr. DeMaria served as the Commonwealth’s state epidemiologist, chief infectious disease medical officer, and assistant commissioner of the Department of Public Health. A dedicated public health leader, Dr. DeMaria is a sought-after expert on the history of infectious disease prevention and control, and champion of local and global public health.
After graduating from Emory University Dr. Siddiqi obtained both an MS and MD from Boston University. Dr. Siddiqi is currently a fellow in Department of Interventional Radiology University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
In addition to her input on the Advisory, Dr. Siddiqi oversees the Spoken History Project, a recorded interview series with senior healthcare professionals in New England with the goal of preserving their oral histories .
